That is why it was named Shigupan, literally meaning "rock-dish". There are six waterfalls that very in form and volume situated in the upstream of Qiankeng River. There is also a 1.2km-long scenic trail, where visitors can enjoy a variety of butterflies: Byasa polyeuctes termessus, Graphium cloanthus kuge, Papilio bianor thrasymedes and Kallima inachis formosana all dance along the trail.

Out of all the locations in Fengshan, it is from here that visitors can enjoy the best view: green mountains, emerald valleys, steams, suspension bridge and waterfalls are all included. Visitors can also experience the great momentum of the streams during the rainy season. In addition, the Fengshan tribal village and multi-peaked mountains, as well as the Jiaolong River intersecting with the Shigupan River can be spotted from a distance. In the north, the Qiankeng River intersects with the aforesaid two rivers; these three rivers converge upstream of Qingshui River, which is also the location of the common borders for Chiayi, Yunlin and Nantou Counties.

Jiaolong Waterfall

The highest and longest waterfall in Taiwan, and also the waterfall with the largest height drop in Southeast Asia. Aptly named Jiaolong (flying dragon), the waterfall has an elevation of over 2,000 meters above sea level, with a vertical drop of more than 1,000 meters. The waters here rush straight into the valley in four layers. During the summer rainy season, the magnificent scene of the waterfall carrying plentiful water down to the valley can be seen from a distance. The water churns on the mountain peak before dropping in a ferocious flow, like a flying dragon vigorously tumbling down from the top.
