Nankunshen Temple is rated 3-star by the internationally renowned the "Michelin Green Guide Taiwan." It is one of the most important temples in Taiwan and also the oldest Wangye Temple.Nankunshen Temple was built in 1662 and has gone through repair and expansion for many times. Not until 1928, the Temple becomes what it looks like today. The temple worships the Great King Li, the Second King Chi, the Third Kind Wu, the Fourth Kind Jhu, and the Fifth King Fan. The Temple has many branches around Taiwan. During the Wangye Sacrificial Rites, believers around Taiwan would swarm into the Nankunshen Temple. The scale of the parade formation held in the Temple's square with many psychics coming around is the biggest one in Taiwan.

Cultural Gallery of Nankunshen

Cultural Gallery of Nankunshen lies to the northwest of Nankunshen Temple. The design of the garden in the Gallery adopts the style of the garden in Southern Mainland China. The Nankunshen Cultural Museum is a dovetailed, three-story, teak building. The museum gives introduction to Nankunshen Temple, it's history, the miracles performed by the Five Kings, and the life story of the artist, Hong, Tong. It is worth visiting.
