Fengtian Temple
Fentain Temple is a county-designated historic site dating back to 1811, the 16th year of Emperor Jiaqing's reign in the Qing Dynasty. Each year during the third month of the lunar calendar, the temple is the final stop for followers on the Dajia Zhen-lan Temple in Taichung. The distinctively exquisite temple has a seven-partition-span facade based on such details ad Sanchuan, Wumen and Erfang, with a depth of four rooms: Sanchuan Shirne, Main Shrine, Back Shrine and Lingxiaobao Shrine. A mixture of Fujian and Guangdong architectural styles, the temple has it's front and back eaves supported by stone pillars elaborately carved with the motif of "eight immortals on a dragon" and "flowers and birds," respectively. Other architectural highlights include a central gate painted with a colorful gate-keeping dragon, stone gable walls that extend sideways and exciting dragon details that accentuate the wall pillars on which the subsidiary enshrinement's back eaves are mounted.
