Beimen Visitor Center
The former of Beimen Visitor Center of Southwest Coast National Scenic Area was Beimen Salt-Cleansing Factory. The Center gives introductions to the history of salt industry, the ecosystem of wetland, religions and culture, local industries, and literature and arts. Besides, there are a multimedia interaction area and a briefing room presenting films on schedule in the Center. The specimen of the sperm whale and Hong Tong's work on the wall surrounding the center are worth watching.
Beimen salt Administration Office
Beimen Salt Administration Office was in charge of taxing and salt distributing and selling. The office was built in 1923. The wooden building adopts British and Japanese architectural elements. Not a single nail but dovetails were used to build the house. The house preserves and presents the look of the office built during the Japanese Colonial Period.
JIAN-LAI-YE Grocery store
JIAN-LAI-YE Grocery Store was once the canteen owned by the Taiwan Salt Co. Later the store is remade into a unique store decorated with oyster shells and brick tiles. The store sells old-fashion snacks and other specialties in Beimen. The soap opera, "The Prince Becomes a Frog" had shot scenes here.
