Maple Garden

Maple Garden is the first concave-shaped park in Taiwan. With flood detention and drainage functions, the park is equipped with many facilities, such as glass viewing platforms, wooden-plank paths and red-railing bridges winding over the water. At night, it's even more romantic with many lights and stars reflecting off the ripples of the lake. This has become a popular new destination in Taichung.

Tunghai University

Fengjia Night Market

Fengjia Night Market is one of Taiwan's most famous tourist night markets, mainly covering the streets around Wenhua Rd., Fuxing Rd. and Fengjia Rd. Here you can find almost anything you could dream of for reasonable prices. Fengjia Night Market is especially renowned for unique and original snack foods, such as Double Layer Roll Sausage, Squidto, Pao Dan Fresh Shrimp, and Bear Paw pastries, which all originated from this night market. The market vendor booths mostly open at 4 p.m and close around 2 a.m., allowing people to come here most anytime to enjoy a culinary journey.

Houfeng Bikeway

Houfeng Bikeway, opened to the public on April 17, 2005, begins below the overpass for the National Freeway No.4 and ends at the Houli Horse Farm. Going through "Tunnel No. 9" of the old mountain railroad line and then passing across a steel-truss bridge, the whole bikeway is 4.5 kilometers long. Rebuilt along the original route of the old mountain line, this path leads visitors on a tour of varied scenery, including not only green, peaceful pastoral scenes, but also the magnificent steel-truss bridge, crossing over the vast Dajia River valley. Finally, it connects with the Dongfeng Bike Green Corridor to form a bike route with a total legth of 19 kilometers and unique nostalgic charm.

Chang Lien Cheng Saxophone Museum

Entering the Chang Lien-Cheng Saxophone Museum is like walking into a beautiful musical palace. The museum not only records the history of the saxophone industry, but also showcases a precious collection of saxophones, including those from the 1940s. With displays covering the saxophone manufacturing process, the museum tells the story of saxophones in Taiwan.

Houli Horse Farm

Originally used for horse breeding and military cavalry purposes, Houli Horse Farm has now been transformed into a leisure and tourism horse ranch. Today it is not only a famous equestrian training center, but also looks for diversified management. Tourists  can choose to enjoy an equestrian show, take horse carriage rides or ride a horse under an instructors' guidance.

Transportation

Maple Garden:

1.Get off at the UBus Transit Station, transfer to bus No. 48, 57, 60, 63, 83, 87, 88, 106, 146, 147, 150, 168 or 169 and get off at the Chaoyang Bridge stop.

2.Take bus No. 57, 83, 86, 87, 88, 106 or 146 at Taichung Train station and get off at Chaoyang Bridge/Maple Garden stop.

Tunghai University:

1. Get off at the UBus Transit Station, transfer to bus No. 83, 86, 87, 88, 106, 150, 168 or169 and get off at the Tunghai University stop.

2. Take Bus No. 161 at the THSR Taichung Station, get off at the Taichung Station, get off at the Taichung Veterans General Hospital, and the university is across the street.

Fengjia Night Market:

1. Get off at the UBus Transit Satation, transfer to bus No.79 and get off at the Fengjia University stop.

2. Take Bus No. 5, 25, 33, 35, 37, 45, 79, 81 or 125 and get off at the Fengjia University stop.

Houfeng Bikeway:

Get off at the stop of Houfeng Bikeway.

Chang Lien Cheng Saxophone Museum:

From the Houli Train Station, take Bus No. 92, 212, 215 or 226, get off at the Songhe Farm stop and walk toward Gongan Rd. for 5 minutes.

Houli Horse Farm:

Get off at the Houli Horse Farm Stop.
