Taroko National Park

Taroko Gorge, chiseled and formed by the Liwu river, is a geological history itself. With the ascending of Central Cross-Island Highway, one can enjoy the seasons and climate changing as well as the landscape and the rich eco-system changes with the elevation. There are prehistoric sites and the ruins of the Taroko tribe and their ancient trails in the park. The landscape is full of dramatic changes with many attractions along the way. It is an ideal place for eco-tourism and environmental education.

Qingshui Cliffs

Qingshui Cliffs are located on the Su-Hua Highway. The cliffs are 5km of spectacular coastline. It is one of the eight great scenic areas in Taiwan.

Changchun (Eternal Spring) Shrine

Changchun (Eternal Spring) Shrine is a temple-style building dedicated to the 225 workers who sacrificed their lives for the construction of the highway. The beautiful waterfall next to the shrine is one of the most famous on the Central Cross-Island Highway.

Buluowan

The Buluowan platform is the large double river terraces of the Liwu River. "Bullowan" in Taroko means "The Echo in the Canyon". There is about a 30 meter difference between the upper and lower terraces.

Swallow Grotto

The Liwu River runs through here, it has cut the riverbed deep and narrow, and with the enhanced erosion streams, it has carved out a beautiful and magnificent wonder along the grotto.

Tunnel of the Nine Turns

The Tunnel of the Nine Turns is the old Central Cross-Island Highway. Along the turns, there are huge cliffs for people to consider the power of nature. The trail twists and turns, creating wonders and surprises for hikers to discover.
