Early settlers fo the Ami tribe gathered rocks in piles in corners of dried land in order to make room for farmable lands. Over time, the tribal name evolved into "Dulan".

In a Rukai society, the oldest son inherits the family.
The arts and culture of the Rukai is manifested through stone houses, carvings, and embroidery. Men with courage, dedication and obedience as well as women with purity, chastity, filial piety, will be granted the honor of wearing the lily - the Rukai tribe flower - which is the characterization of personal status.

There are eight chiefs from eight families of the Sapulju. In front of each of the eight households stands a rock that accounts each family's history.

The Bunun tribe calls the Luanshan Mountain as "Sazasa,"which means"a place where sugar canes grow tall, where animals are active, and where people live well".
The Sazasa tribe has a spectacular forest, located in the southern coastal mountains and Dulan Mountain foothill. The forest is the only place currently in Taiwan that preserves Nanmu and Banyan trees. In order to preserve the lands of the Luanshan Mountain Forest, all villagers fought hard set up the Aboriginal Tribal Restoration Cultural&Education Foundation.
The foundation not only protects the last remaining original banyan forest in Taiwan, but also hopes to promote intellectual and spiritual purification. Thus the forest is also named as the "Forest Culture Heritage Museum."
