Dawu National Forest Trail

The Dawu Station of Forestry Bureau can be reached by turning left at Dawu Crossover Bridge at the 435km mark on Provincial Highway No.9. A national forestry trail is paved with crosstie and goes around the area on the hill behind the station. The total length of this loop trail is 1.1km and takes half an hour's walk to complete. Along the trail are versatile vegetation with explanatory signs, accompanied by butterflies, birds, and insects.

Jhihben National Forest Recreation Area

Jhihben National Forest Recreation Area covers 110 hectares in the hot spring area of Jhihben. It provides tourists with a rich and beautiful natural ecology and lots of fun at the local hot springs.

Jhihben Hot Springs Scenic Area

Jhihben Hot Springs Scenic Area is the first world-renowned hot spring area in Taitung County. It is famous for "Mei Ren Tang" (hot springs of beauty) and forest bath. It is a well-known hot spring village in Taiwan, with several tourist attractions nearby: GUanlin Suspension Bridge. Baiyu Waterfall, Cingjyue Temple and forest recreational areas.

The Aurora Garden

In Paiwan language, Taimali is called "Ja Bau Li," which means where the sun rises; therefore Taimali Township is also called the "Town of Rising Sun"

Day Lily (Jinzhen) Mountain

Day Lily Mountain was formerly called Taimali Mountain and later renamed due to it's richness in lily flowers (pronounced as "Jinzhen" in chinese), and it is one of the three lily-flower-growing areas in the eastern part of Taiwan. Every August and September, during the lily flowers season, seas of lily flowers scatter all over the mountains and sway gently with the rhythm of the autumn breeze, forming a splendid scene for tourists and earning a great reputation for the mountain.

Jinlun Hot Springs Scenic Area

Jinlun Hot Springs Scenic Area is located in the riverbank of Jinlun River, in Taimali Township of Taitung County; it is a typical valley hot spring.

New-Built Community (Sapulju Tribe)

The Sapulju Tribe is located at the campus of Sinsing Elementary School and surrounded by green mountains and the sound of cicadas. It is a good place to experience and learn bout the Paiwan culture . Paiwan artworks and traditional Paiwan totems can be found everywhere in the lithographs displayed and on the painted ground.

Chengsing Tribe (Pottery Art Street)

The large clay urn sitting at the entrance to Jinfong Township indicates the boarder of Chengsing Tribe. The number plates on each house are homemade and represent the pottery works of the household. With pottery urns and pottery-shaped sings everywhere this tribe became the "Home of Pottery."

JInshui Camp Historical Old Trail

Jinshui Camp Historical Old Trail is one of the three channels connecting the east and the west of Taiwan built at the end of the Qing Dynasty, and is also known as Santiaolun Historical Old Trail. The trail beings in the Shueidiliao of Fangliao Township in Pingtung and traverses the Daren Township on Tatung County. It reaches the sea via Dawu Township in the south side of the Dawu River estuary, which is near the seashore of the Pacific Ocean. With a total length of 47km, it is the most frequently utilized and durable historical old trail in Taiwan, as well as a favorite hiking trail of tourists.

Tjuabal Paiwan Culture and Art Community

The Tjuabal Tribe still retains the traditional style of aboriginal communities. There are aboriginal woodcraftsmen. artists, cultural workers and traditional chief leaders in this village, and many of their house are ready-made museums, representing the culture and arts of Paiwan Tribe and serving as the local prehistoric culture sites.
