The Hualien-Taitung area is the birthplace of whale-watching in Taiwan and is also one of the most popular tourist destinations. According to the Taiwan Cetacean Society, there are numerous types of cetacean in the Taitung seacoast area, including the Risso's dolphin, Pantropical spotted dolphin, Bottlenose dolphin, and Fraser's dolphin, a total of 18 kinds. Take the whale-watching ferry from the town of Chenggong, Fugang, or Green Island, and let the whale-watch guide provide you with detailed descriptions and introductions of the whales and dolphins that you might spot leaping in the air form the waters around you. The whale-watching activity takes approximately two house.

By Car

Take the Taitung Chenggong Singang

Fishing Port

Take Provincial Highway No. 11 towards Taitung City, connect to Fugang St. at 163.5km to reach Fugang Fishing Port

By Bus

Take the Taiwan Tourist Bus Shuttle, or take the Diing Dong Passenger Bus (Sea Route) in the city area towards Hualien, Jinpu, and Chengong. Alight at Fugang Station.

Taitung Chenggong Fishing Port

By Car

Take Provincial Highway No. 11 towards Chenggong and reach Chenggong Fishing Port.
