Liushidan (Sixty Stone) Mountain
Liushidan Mt. is as renowned as Chike Mt. for the sea of flowers that cover it's slopes. Viewed from above, the countryside scenes of the valley are simply breathtaking.
Luoshan organic village
Luoshan Village is a tranquil organic village. Water from Luoshan Waterfall, pure after being filtered through layer upon layer of maifan stone, is used to irrigate the fields and produces superb organic rice. At harvest time the fields of rice are like a sea of gold. The mud volcano near the village continues to spit mud and is like a geology classroom. It's water is used to make mud volcano tofu, plump, firm tofu with a special taste.
Buildings that belong to the old days
Qiu Family Former Residence
Yulian Temple is over 100 years old. It enshrines Buddha and Taoist gods and has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. The current temple was built using cement and bricks. The dragon pillars and stone lions were hand-carved and fully display the beauty of traditional crafts.
Yulian Temple
Hualien was where early migrants settled. The Qiu family migrated from Pingdong and invited craftsmen from China to build their three-section compound. All that remains of the house today is it's simple exterior but the craftwork on the beams and pillars is as brilliant as ever, showing the taste and prosperity of the family that once lived there.
The earth & It's never fading charm
Gongpu ancient

Fault outcrop
Fuli Township has eight fault lines and fold belts where tectonic plates press together. The surface of these lines and belts is slate grey. Rainfall has led to erosion and troughs, creating a desolate landscape.
Grand View of Scenic Spots
Mingli Tobacco Building
Tobacco buildings are symbols of the prosperity of the tobacco industry during the Japanese colonial period. Mingli village has more than ten surviving tobacco buildings. The now no longer used baking rooms and firewood rooms seem to still be full of the smell of tobacco leaves. Local community development association's efforts have led to the rebirth of one of the Osaka-type tobacco buildings, bringing back local people's memories of the past when the tobacco industry prospered.
